Collaborative Message from Fr Gerald Sousa

Dear Friends,

I am happy to announce that our plan for collaboration has been accelerated as Cardinal Sean has appointed me Administrator of Saint Anselm Rectorate. I'm excited to lead the Saint Anselm community and look forward to getting to know all of you in the weeks, months, and years ahead.

My goal is to unite our three churches as one parish family. Even amid the present uncertainty, I believe that expediting a canonical merger is not only prudent but presents an exciting new chapter for all of us. While this structure will leverage our collective resources, I feel that it will, more importantly, align our efforts to serve and make disciples of the people of Sudbury, Maynard, Framingham, and surrounding communities.

The financial impact of COVID-19 has hit all of our parishes significantly, and we have to brace for repercussions that will be felt for the foreseeable future. We will work towards consolidating offices at a single location, planning for the housing of the priests, announcements of plans for faith formation for the coming year, the setting of Mass schedules, and more. Father Swencki will remain in residence at Saint Anselm Rectory until different arrangements can be made.

As long as public Masses are suspended, I wish to invite you to join us for Sunday Mass at 10 AM, which is live streamed at fatimasudbury.org. Virtual coffee and connection is offered following Mass via Zoom and provides a great opportunity to get to know one another. The link to join can be found under the live stream window on the website.

If you have any questions, concerns, or prayers you'd like to share, please don't hesitate to reach out to me at pastorsoffice@fatimasudbury.org.

I'm confident that together we will rise to the challenges of our day and effectively bring meaningful worship at a time when people desperately need it. It is a privilege for me to be able to serve alongside you.

Fr. Gerald Gerald A. Souza, Administrator
