Our Mission

Faith Formation at St. Anselm’s employs a multi-age model of instruction to foster community, role modeling and a safe space where children can grow in their faith and in their relationship with God.  Using a child-centered approach, we encourage children and young adults to encounter their faith through a variety of activities: engagement with Biblical stories and the Sacraments through the creative arts for the youngest, a deeper connection to the Word of God through guided prayer and meaningful instruction for upper elementary school aged children, reflective Confirmation preparation for middle schoolers and opportunities for high school students to live out their faith through service to their community.

The Eucharist is the source and summit of Christian life. When we receive the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ, we deepen our communion with God and our fellowship with each another. To prepare for First Communion, your child must be enrolled for 2nd Grade.

The sacrament of Reconciliation is about mercy – the mercy of Jesus Christ. Confessing our sins reconciles us to God and restores us to his grace and deep friendship. Confession breaks the power of shame and the hurt of sin, and restores us within the community of faith.

In Confirmation we receive the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, and the deepening of baptismal grace, enabling us to grow as disciples of Christ. St. Anselm’s Confirmation program is open to young people in grades 8 to 12.

If you are an adult seeking to receive Baptism, First Communion, or thinking about becoming Catholic, please contact us – we would love to welcome you and help you take the next step!

Anyone wishing to deepen their understanding of the faith is welcomed & encouraged to participate in one of our learning opportunities for people of all ages – including online courses, retreats, book clubs, service opportunities, and more.
