Faith Formation 2022-2023

Fr. Joe has been working on details for CFF for the 2022-2023 school year.  To finalize these plans requires us to have enrollment estimates.  We hope to build on the momentum of last year for our pre-confirmation children.  We thank Ann Marie Babish and Sue Migliorisi for their help last year and for their commitment for next year.  For our Confirmation classes, there is a task force that has been formed to develop a new program.  Our goal is to have the students informed and engaged so as to be well  prepared for the rest of their lives.

As part of our planning we ask that you register your children prior to the end of this school year.  We also ask parents who are willing and able to help in any way to please step forward by contacting the rectory.  Lastly, we are looking for a part time CFF Coordinator who has had or has children in the program.  Please contact the rectory if you are interested or know someone who may be an excellent candidate.

Everyone involved recognizes the importance of a strong CFF program for our families here at St. Anselm.  We are confident that our program will meet the needs of our children and their parents in preparing them well for successful faith journeys.

St. Anselm’s faith formation program offers classes to people of all ages who wish to deepen their understanding of our God and our Catholic Faith. Our programs are rooted in scripture, service, and developing trusting relationships within our community.

Our faith formation classes have been fortunate to create initiatives such as our “H2OPE” effort to bring clean drinking water to Tanzania, and fundraising events to support the United Service Organization. We are extremely proud of all who have participated in our program, and look forward to continuing this dynamic effort and welcoming all who wish to join us.

The Eucharist is the source and summit of Christian life. When we receive the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ, we deepen our communion with God and our fellowship with each another. To prepare for First Communion, your child must be enrolled for 2nd Grade.

The sacrament of Reconciliation is about mercy – the mercy of Jesus Christ. Confessing our sins reconciles us to God and restores us to his grace and deep friendship. Confession breaks the power of shame and the hurt of sin, and restores us within the community of faith.

In Confirmation we receive the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, and the deepening of baptismal grace, enabling us to grow as mature disciples of Christ. St. Anselm’s confirmation program is a 2-year program, in 9th and 10th grades.

If you are an adult seeking to receive Baptism, First Communion, or thinking about becoming Catholic, please contact us – we would love to welcome you and help you take the next step!

Anyone wishing to deepen their understanding of the faith is welcomed & encouraged to participate in one of our learning opportunities for people of all ages – including online courses, retreats, book clubs, service opportunities, and more.
